Next week we will be holding Meet & Greet Interviews for all teachers and families.  The purpose of the Meet & Greet Interviews is to provide an opportunity for parents to meet with the class teacher of their child to share information about their child.  The class teacher may ask questions relating to your child’s interests, strengths and challenges in addition to other information that may assist the teacher in supporting your child. Parents are encouraged to share any information that they feel the class teacher needs to know in order to enhance your child’s school experience

These are a list of questions that your child’s teacher discuss with you:

• What are your child’s strengths and interests?
• What are some challenges or difficulties your child has?
• What activities does your child participate in outside of school hours?
• What goals do you have for your child? What do you hope they achieve this year?
• Additional comments or information you would like to share

The Meet and Greet Interviews are one way that we strive to build strong family-school partnerships at St. John Vianney’s Primary School.  Family-school partnerships involve the ways families and schools work together to support children’s academic achievement. This includes building relationships between families and teachers, connecting what children are learning at school with how they learn at home; helping families to respond early to children’s learning challenges; and extending children’s learning around the things they are passionate about. 

Each Meet and Greet Interview will be 10 minutes and will be conducted within the child’s classroom.  Parents will be able to book an interview time with their child’s class teacher via our online booking system.  The online booking system is now open for bookings and will close on Sunday 19th February at 4pm.

Please note:

• Students will finish school at 1.10pm on Wednesday 22nd February.
• There will no canteen on Wednesday 22nd  February.
• Camp Australia will operate from 1.10pm. Please ensure you book your child in if required.

Our class teachers would like to meet with each student’s parents, however if you are unable to attend the Meet & Greet interviews please contact your child’s class teacher as soon as possible so that a suitable time can be organised.
