Year 8 Girls Cricket

On Tuesday 26th November, the Year 8 girls cricket team headed to Northcote for the state finals, having breezed through both the local and regional finals earlier in the year. Eight of the state champions from 2018 were back! Mia Earl, Maddyn Yenco, Lissy Down, Ashleigh Moore, Tamsyn Hutchins, Amarlee Zito, Eloise Walker, Marnie Owen and new recruit Taylah Groves played exceptionally well as a team throughout  the day to win all three round robin matches, to make it to the grand final against St Josephs, Echuca. The girls were visibly nervous heading into this match, their opponent also going into the match with 3 wins for the day. In the end they had nothing to worry about, winning the final easily 161-55. A special mention goes to Mia Earl and Lissy Down for a top score of 49 off 2 overs earlier in the day. Well done and congratulations to all the girls on a fun-filled day and a fantastic achievement!
