Shepparton High School Open Day

Shepparton High School will open its doors this Sunday 1st December to pay tribute to 110 years of education before the site is transformed into a state-of-the-art secondary college.

For staff, students and their families, the special Sunday opening will be a chance to celebrate their involvement in the Shepparton High School community.

For visitors – many who taught at the school, attended as a student (or even did both) over the years – it will be a chance to visit familiar classrooms, catch up with old friends and recall their high school days.

The day, from 11am to 3pm, will feature displays of memorabilia and historic photos, open doors to much of the facility, student tour guides, a free barbecue and more. A feature event will see all attendees gather for a “class picture” – to be taken by a drone - at 12.30pm on the school oval.

Principal Christine Cole encourages anyone with a family or community connection to Shepparton High School to attend.  For more information, call the school on (03) 5821 4322.

Donation of old uniforms.

We ask all parents and carers wishing to donate any old uniforms items to please drop them off at the main offices of either Wanganui, McGuire or Mooroopna colleges. The four secondary schools are working together with Red Cross and 2020 VCAL students to design and implement a sustainable re-use program for the old uniforms. We will keep you posted with any updates through the new school website www.gssc.vic.edu.au

A message from the Library

Various reminders about the return of library books have been made in Home Group, emails and SMS' to parents/guardians.

A number of students have books that have been overdue for a long time, now presumed lost. Parents/guardians of these students have been contacted, requesting that a book replacement payment be made ASAP through the main office, ensuring their student is ready to borrow books next year.

The Greater Shepparton Secondary College begins next year, so return of all books is a priority, to allow for some movement of books to other campuses in support of the curriculum offered and changes to year level students on site.

From all in the library, we wish our students and families an enjoyable, safe holiday.
