Year 5-6 Canberra Excursion

Year 5-6 Most Excellent Adventure!

What a fantastic week that most of our Year 5-6 students had at Canberra last week. Unfortunately with some restrictions associated with COVID as well as the death of Queen Elizabeth II, the students didn't have the opportunity to meet up with Barnaby Joyce as well as not being allowed to visit all of the training facilities at the Australian Institute of Sport or viewing everything that the Australian War Memorial had on offer. The week was still full of a number of highlights. The students thoroughly enjoyed the various games and activities that were on offer at Questacon, pressing their own one-dollar coin at the Royal Australian Mint, viewing Phar Lap's heart at National Museum of Australia as well as rolling down the side of the roof at Parliament House. This is just the tip of the iceberg on what we did and I know the students will have a lot of great memories on what went on, including Hugo's rendition of The Backstreet Boys classic, 'I Want It That Way'.

Again thank you to all of the students who made last week a great one and I was very proud to accompany you all. Also thank you to Mrs Davey who had a lot of sacrifices to ensure that she could join us. Finally, thank you to all of the parents who made the big commitment to ensuring that their child was at school early on Monday morning so we could depart on time. It is very much appreciated. Look out Canberra in 2024!

Below are some more photos as well as some Power Points that some members of Year 5-6 created recounting their week at Canberra.
