Welcome to Week 6 of Term 4,

Yesterday we held a short service at 11.00am for Remembrance Day. The 11th hour of the 11th Day of the 11th Month, each year, is the time when Australians take time to remember the men and women who fought and died in wars. 

It was originally called Armistice Day, the day when the first World War ended after four years of fighting. Close to 62,000 Australians, men and women lost their lives during the first world war.  

Together with the United Kingdom, the government of Australia decided to rename Armistice Day, Remembrance Day after the end of WW2. New Zealand, United States, United Kingdom and Australia all commemorate Remembrance Day.

Thanks to the Year 11 Leaders: Lucinda Tran, Sienna Quinn, Harleen Kaur, Hanah Singhawansa, Sharna Trinh and Katerina Kabadais for leading the service. 

Year 11 exams commence on Tuesday 23rd November, with a study day on Monday 22nd November. The compulsory Year 12 and Year 11 2022 Transition Program commences after the exams, on Thursday 25th November.

Best wishes to the Year 12s 2021, who will officially graduate on Thursday 18th November. We are very much looking forward to spending the day with them.

Can families please take special note of the calendar dates below, as there are a number of upcoming events that affect various year levels.

Killester Wonder Program

We are seeking Killester Alumni to participate in our new and exciting Wonder Program (commencing in 2022). As part of the program, our Alumni will help students from Years 7 to 9 to explore vocations and all the WONDEROUS opportunities that await them beyond the Killester gates. Your level of involvement depends on your capacity - you can participate in a ‘small’ or ‘large’ way. If you are interested in being involved or finding out more please email wonder@killester.vic.edu.au. We look forward to hearing from you!
