Prep Transition 

December 7th -    9:15 – 11:15am

 

Prep 2022 Information Morning Tea

December 7th December    11.15am to 11.45am

 

On Tuesday 7th December at 11.15am to 11.45am parents of Preps 2022 are invited to attend  Prep information Morning tea. This morning tea will provide you information about the beginning of foundation year and an opportunity to ask questions.

Tea, coffee and light refreshment provided. 

Must be double vaccinated and check in using QR code to attend. 

 

Grade 6 transition day 

December 7th - All day 

The state-wide Year 6 to 7 Orientation Day will be held on Tuesday 7th December 2021, for all students attending government secondary schools in 2022. 

Grade 6 students are not required at Mackellar on this day as they are to attend their secondary school. 

 

Students who are not attending government schools in 2022 may have an alternative orientation day. These students will be required to attend school on Tuesday 7th December 2021. Please contact the secondary school if you are unsure as to when your child needs to attend orientation.

 

It is the parents’ responsibility to get your child to and from their new secondary school on this day.

 

Grade 6 Graduation

December 15th -  6:00 - 7:30pm

Graduation 2021 will be held on site on Wednesday 15th December. We are looking so forward to inviting you all back into our school.

 

As you would be aware, this year is different from other years, and we will have to adapt to COVID-19 Department of Education rules and regulations. 

 

Parents/Guardians will be able to attend with all following:

  • Proof of double vaccination 
  • QR Code before entering
  • Maintain social distancing

Each student will be receiving a graduation bear on behalf of the school. During the day they will have individual pizzas, cakes from Eiffel Tower, a drink and a Gelati ice cream at the cost of $20 per student.

 

Please Note: If you have paid for your trip to Lygon Street that was unfortunately cancelled, the money will be your payment for the food and drink during that day.  All others who did not pay for Lygon Street will need to pay $20 via Xuno.

 

Later that day the Grade 6 students will be dismissed at 3:30pm.  At 5:45pm they will return to school to get ready for the 6pm start on the staged area.  We ask that students come dressed in smart casual clothing.

 

Wednesday 15th December

11:35am-1:45pm – School based student only celebration:

  • Practising the song
  • Bears signing (with Texta)
  • Lunch together

6pm-7:30pm – Students & Families:  (Please be here by 5:45pm)

  • Opening the ceremony
  • Speeches
  • Graduation Certificates & Awards
  • Closing the ceremony

 

Changing Schools 2022 (Prep to Grade Five students only)

We are currently working on the planning requirements for 2022.  We would appreciate if you have could advise if your child/ren will no longer be attending Mackellar Primary School in 2022.  Please complete questionnaire below by Tuesday 30th November 2021 by following the link below.

CENTREPAY IS NOW AVAILABLE AT MACKELLAR

Centrepay is a voluntary bill-paying service which is free for Centrelink customers.  Use Centrepay to arrange regular deductions from your Centrelink payment to pay for school book packs and fees, camps or excursions/activities. 

You can start or change a deduction at any time.  The quickest way to do this is through your Centrelink online (myGov) account.

Alternatively you can complete the attached Centrepay Deduction Authority Form and return to the General Office.

Lost Property

Please ensure that all children's belongings are clearly labelled with their name (not just initials) and grade. Sometimes items are not returned to their rightful owner because they are not labelled correctly or clearly. If you find named belongings in your child's possession, could you please return them to your child's classroom.

Our lost property is stored outside the office (white bin). 

Student Absences 

Absent all day?   

Parents to enter absence directly into Xuno by 9:05am (this can also be done in advance) OR phone the school office on 9364 0200

 

Arriving late? 

When you arrive at school, the student must be signed IN at the school office prior to going to class. 

 

Leaving early?

Parent/Carer must sign the student OUTat the school office prior to picking them up.
