Physical Education

At Mackellar Primary School students attend P.E. with a willingness to participate and learn new skills. They are confident, motivated and work in teams with drive and focus to succeed.

This term, it has been fantastic to get students back into the gym and see them being physically active and see their skills progress.

The grade prep – 2 cohort are revising their Fundamental Motor skills including running, jumping, throwing and catching. They are beginning to look at the skill of two-hand strike and apply this to modified games of tee-ball and cricket.

The grade 3-6 cohort have been busy applying the fundamental motor skills of strike, run and dodge to modified games of Volleyball and Badminton. The students have been enjoying participating in round robin tournaments where the students organise and score their own games. This has given students the opportunity to resolve conflicts and build team cohesion.
