Congratulations to Daniel Shen whose work has been selected to be exhibited in the Top Screen Exhibition

TOP DESIGNS 2019 Saturday 30 March – Sunday 14 July 2019 at the Melbourne Museum, Carlton

Every year Koonung Media students embarked on a long an arduous journey to individually develop, design, and produce a fully realised Media Product. Students can choose to create a video, comic, photographic folio, or animation. They are required to draw on their considerable creativity, be highly organised, and dedicate so much of their time to complete this.

In addition to the grades they receive and the satisfaction they feel on finishing this monumental task, students can enter their work into the VCE Season of Excellence. To have one's work selected for Top Designs or Top Screen is a great accolade and evidence of hard work, attention to detail, and an outstanding final product. The dozen or so videos selected for Top Screen each year represent the most outstanding Media work from across the whole of Victoria.

Koonung is proud to congratulate Daniel Shen who has been selected to have his work from 2018 exhibited in this year’s Top Designs exhibition as part of the VCE Season of Excellence 2019.

Daniel produced a stunning short film entitled Deadweight. A dark, emotional, film noir, it follows the travails of one burdened man and asks: What if a person’s emotional baggage is physically manifested as weighty luggage they are forced to carry around in their day-to-day lives?

We commend Daniel for his dedication, skill, creativity, and hard, hard work. He will be an inspiration to media students for years to come.
