Country Week

Country Week is such a great week of the school year. We get to spend time with our students away from the college, playing sport and socialising in an informal way.

Thank you to the students and staff who attended Country Week and who made it so enjoyable. A BIG thank you to Brad Woodruff who sweats for weeks putting together every last detail.  We had 67 in our squad and 10 support crew.  Amazing!  It is not whether we win or lose its all the fun we have trying.

Year 12 Dinner – 12th October 2022

Alf Mungioli will be writing to parents of our Year 12’s seeking approval for students to attend the Year 12 dinner at Rustlers Steakhouse and Grill in Albany on Wednesday the 12th October 2022 at 6:15pm. This will be a College excursion and as such, Day and Boarding Students who reside in Denmark will travel in on College transport.  Albany students can meet us at Rustlers Steakhouse and Grill at 222 Stirling Terrace, Albany at 6:15pm.  The College will cover the cost of the dinner for the students.  I can hardly believe these little Year 10’s are now our graduating class.

Beanies

Students and parents must be aware that the beanies can only be worn when students are on farm.  Students cannot wear the beanie with their class uniform or with their blues, if not on farm.  Beanies are available at Barefoot Clothing in Albany.

Leave (early leave and absence)

If parents or students are putting in leave to go early from the program, or are away for a day or more, please make contact with the Deputy Principal with the details for the absence. I will not approve early leave without information in the notes and confirmation that a phone call to the College has been made. If you see that I have rejected the leave I will provide information in the rejection for you to contact the College.

Laundry

Secondhand clothing is available in the laundry, please check with the ladies before you buy anything new as we may be able to swap clothing sizes.  We welcome donations of the College uniform (in good condition) as students leave the College.  Clothing without name tags will be displayed on the table for collection when the laundry is staffed, otherwise it will be packed away until the following shift.  A record of lost clothing is kept in the laundry.  If students have lost an item of clothing, please report it to the laundry staff.

College Uniforms

There are secondhand uniforms available in the laundry and via our Facebook group WACoA Denmark – Buy and Sell – Second-hand uniforms

Travel Arrangements for Home Weekend and End of Term

The College will organise travel arrangements (bus tickets) for the end of term; The College books outward travel for home weekend and the end of Term 3. The return ticket is booked by the parent/guardian and must be booked to arrive early afternoon preferably into Denmark; late arrival will incur a pick-up fee, if the student is arriving into Albany by the College of $100.00. All other travel arrangements throughout the term are to be arranged by the parent/guardian.

Students Travelling on Public Transport

We request that a text is sent to the residential phones when your child is travelling via public transport or catching a flight to Albany so that we know that they are enroute to us.  This is more a Duty of Care issue and confirms the information that should be also in REACH.  If you would like further information regarding this request please call me.

Vehicle Forms

Prior to any student vehicle/motorcycle being brought to the College please ensure all forms are completed and up-to-date and that any vehicle or motorbike that comes on to site has been approved.  Quad bikes will not be approved as part of our recreational motorcycle program.
