Sport and PE Report

Welcome to 2021!

I would like to say a massive welcome back to all students after a restful and well-needed summer holidays. It has been amazing seeing each and every student, getting to know them as their new PE Teacher. For those who don't know, I am Carley Thomas and I will be the PE and Sport Teacher for 2021. I am beyond excited and cannot wait to meet you all over the course of this year!

Grade 5&6 Interschool Sport

This coming Friday all students will have the opportunity to try out for a school summer sport team.  The sports on offer are: Cricket, European Handball, T-Ball, Volleyball and Hotshots Tennis.  Students are selected off the back off this process with emphasis given to cooperation, teamwork, physical application and ability in their chosen sport.  The students have already self-selected the sport that they wish to try out for.

Boroondara Park participates in the North Balwyn District Sports Competition against other local primary schools with matches occurring both on and off site on a Friday morning. Successful teams often proceed to further competitions at Division, Regional and event State level. BPPS has, in recent times, seen students participate in state finals in Football (soccer), Hockey and Handball.

Selected students, and families, will receive further information regarding fixtures, training and expectations following the selection process.

For those students who are not, in this instance, playing Interschool sport, the school run an intramural competition each Friday morning that offers sporting activities that mirror those being played during competitive fixtures.
