Performing Arts & Music at BPPS

Welcome Back!

Update on Vocal Groups & African Drumming:

We know many families are keen to receive an update on the situation with our vocal ensembles and African Drumming in 2021.

In line with the current Department of Education and Training and Chief Medical Officer's guidelines we are still in the process of working out the logistics for Junior Choir (Grade 1-3), Senior Choir (Grade 4-6) and the Boys & Girls Vocal Group (auditioned Grade 5-6 ensemble).

This is a difficult undertaking in terms of the space we are required to use, the number of students who will be involved and singing in close proximity to others.

Once we have further guidelines from the department we will update all Grade 1-6 parents.

The African Drumming Group is able to go ahead this year and those students who were members of the African drumming ensemble in 2020 will automatically continue to have a place in this ensemble in 2021.  If your child is in Grade 4-6 and is interested in applying for one of the remaining spots in the African Drumming Ensemble, please read the email sent to Grade 4-6 families earlier this week and submit the EOI by February 8th.

We look forward to our first African Drumming rehearsal, which will be Monday15 February.

Assembly Guest Performers 2021

Are you a musician currently at a Grade 4 musical level or above? Are you a keen performer who would like to show case your musical talents?  Come and visit Miss Poor to put your name down for a performance spot at one of our upcoming assemblies.

Seesaw - Foundation-Grade 2

This year in Performing Arts, we are using the application Seesaw to develop digital portfolios as well as share our work in the classroom with families! Your child will post to Seesaw to share their learning. Seesaw is private; you will only see posts created by your child.

We encourage you to ‘like’ or comment on your child’s work as a means of providing them with feedback.

If your child is in Grade 1/2 and used Seesaw in 2020 you will automatically be connected to your child's account in the Family Seesaw Account.  If your child is new to BPPS in 2021 (including Foundation students) you will be sent an email shortly to ask you to connect to your child's account.

Showbie - Grade 3-6

Students in Grade 3-6 will be using the application Showbie to submit their work and share their learning. Showbie is also private and we encourage you to ask your child about their learning.
