HPV Team

Words from the Captain!

Over my time here at CSC, I have contributed to many school events and from my first year here I have been a member of the HPV Racing team. Throughout this time I have found new personal challenges to improve on such as public speaking, leadership, and teamwork. In Years 10, 11 and 12, I was appointed team captain which has given me the responsibility to lead the teams to be very successful and improving in various elements each year.

As a team member, I have been able to meet new people from various year levels, teaching them something each year to improve their techniques in vehicle manoeuvring and control, as well a racing learning strategies, and both mental & physical resilience. Most importantly, I am proud of every single person that gets in the trike and has a go at pushing themselves to the limit. If I had not got myself into the Cobram Secondary College HPV team I would have not been able to grow to the person I am now continue to develop my leadership and teamwork skills which has assisted me to achieve my goals. I’m thankful for all Miss DeMoel has done for me and given this opportunity to myself and all other students.

Feedback from 2019 team members

‘I had an amazing time, teachers were amazing ... So proud of the trike and everyone’s efforts during the 24 hours’ Taryn M

‘It's extremely fun, the weekend pushes you academically, physically and mentally. And creates new friendships.’ Cris S

‘HPV racing wasn’t what I expected it to be, it was everything more. I got to experience something completely new and different as well as socialise with students I wouldn't normally socialise with. My favourite part being those connections that were made that would've of happen otherwise.’ Hayley G

In the coming weeks Miss DeMoel will be releasing details of the 2020 racing series on FB and Compass. Stay tuned!
