Armidale Eisteddfod Performances and Ben Venue First Nations Group Success

Last Wednesday, at the Armidale Eisteddfod held at NECOM, our Ben Venue First Nations Group presented their own item combining dance, didgeridoo, clapsticks and voice. This group, ably led by Sienna and Layla, recently performed this item at the opening of our  Yarning Circle.

The audience and Eisteddfod volunteers in attendance received the students, and the performance they created themselves, very warmly. As a result, this talented group has been invited to open the prestigious 2023 Armidale Eisteddfod Gala Concert this coming Sunday at NECOM (OTC Auditorium) at 2.00pm.

Seats for this event are available online through Trybooking for the price of $10 per adult and $5 concession. If your child is part of this performance and you wish to watch the performance, you will need to book tickets. Please book your tickets early via this link to avoid disappointment. Students attending the event to perform who also wish to watch the rest of the show must have a ticket purchased for them ahead of time. Students who will be leaving at the end of their own item do not need to purchase a ticket.

Congratulations First Nations Group! We are so proud of you all.

S3J and S3H both performed an arrangement of Viva La Vida by Coldplay on marimbas, recorders and djembes. All students gave their best effort and looked very professional on stage. S2F and S2Y also performed on the marimbas, recorders and djembes. These classes presented a piece called Click Sticks by Jon Madin which they all performed very well.

Congratulations to every student who braved a full-to-capacity audience and gave a wonderful team effort in the area of music.
