Kindergarten

A message from Early Stage 1

Home reading started last week and we hope everyone is able to set aside a few minutes before bedtime to listen to your child read their home reader or work through the sounds and words page. Please remember that your child’s class teacher is here to help if you have any questions regarding home reading.
Not only is it important to listen to your child while they are reading, it is just as important for you to read to them and enjoy this one-on-one time.  Taking a few minutes to help your child read through the ‘tricky’ words will also help their learning at school.

Please return your child’s reader every Friday. New readers/sounds and words pages will be sent home on the following Monday.

In Week 10, your child will bring home their first school report. This report provides information on what your child can do, areas for further improvement and a self-evaluation from your child about their learning and time at school.

Please remember to keep your child home if they are sick. Your child will require a medical certificate if they are absent for three or more consecutive days.
