Year 12 Students

We have spoken with all the Year 12 students regarding their proposed pathways post Aitken. In general, students have been thoughtful, organised and well prepared with regard to their plans for 2022. That is terrific at this stage of what is a very busy year for them and a year that has been so disrupted. It has been a delight and quite fascinating to chat to our young people and learn of their hopes for 2022 and beyond. Pathways are many and varied and it has been a pleasure to assist them with their research and, where appropriate, the submission of a VTAC application.

Note that VCAA and VTAC have now published revised dates for the issue of results (7:00am, 16 December) and Change of Preference. Please note that dates for timely submission of VTAC preferences (30 September) and SEAS applications (8 October) are unchanged. However, all Year 12 students who wish to apply through VTAC have been able to input their application, thus ensuring they are timely applicants. Change of Preference remains open until 4:00pm, 20 December.  Courses can be added, deleted, or reordered on the VTAC application until that time, providing prerequisites are met and any selection tasks have been completed by the due date.

VTAC convenes a specialist SEAS panel to assess SEAS applications. Applications are graded for severity of impact. The process is confidential. Students will not hear how their SEAS application has been assessed. Late applications will not be accepted. The closing date for SEAS applications, including supporting statements and documentation, remains at 5:00pm, 8 October. This is a hard deadline.

VU Guaranteed applications are still open and close on 8 October.

The deadline for the ACU Guarantee Program has been extended to Friday 8 October, except for courses in high demand (Bachelor of Midwifery, Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Paramedicine, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Paramedicine, Bachelor of Speech Pathology ) where the deadline is Friday 24 September 2021.

Best wishes to our Year 12 students for next term as they complete Year 12. We hope things go smoothly and they experience the success they are striving for.

If Year 12 students have any queries or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Careers staff.
