Term 1, Week 10 - Friday 31st March, 2023

Good afternoon OLSC families

This will be the final newsletter for Term1 - can you believe how fast this term is coming to an end?  Thanks everyone for a great (though busy) start to the year.  The preps and all students have settled in very well to the school year.

Enhancing Catholic School Identity Surveys

Thank you to all the families that have completed the Enhancing Catholic School Identity Survey.  The surveys are open until the morning of Thursday 6th April and I ask that all families take the time to complete the survey.  This data is used for school improvement planning as part of our school review in 2024.

You've got to be in it to win it!  Every family that completes the survey and submits their certificate will go in the draw to win either a $200 fee discount voucher or a $200 uniform voucher.

Happy and Holy Easter to All

As we approach Easter I wish everyone a very happy and holy Easter and hope that you all

get to spend time with family and loved ones.  May the Easter season bring you an abundance of hope, joy and love shared with family and friends.

Cora from the parish has passed on the The Holy Week Timetable for St Andrew's.  See below.

School Closure Monday 24th April

There will be a school closure day on Monday 24th April (this is the day prior to the ANZAC day public holiday).  Term 2 will resume on Wednesday 26th April.  The focus of this closure day is Child Safety Standards, Child Safety and Code of Conduct and other compliance requirements for working with children.

Athletics Day - New Date - Friday May 19th

We have organised a new date for our Whole School Athletics day.  Please save the date as all families are encouraged to come along and join in our event.  We will be sending out invitations for parent helpers to help marshal and run events.  Thank you to the staff that have joined our Athletics Day committee to help plan this whole school event.  Thank you Michelle, Jodie, Janeen, Alison, Jordan and Rita.

Farewell Michelle

Next week Michelle will finish her time at OLSC.  Michelle began her journey as a member of the parent community with both of her sons Thomas and James attending OLSC.  She has been a valued member of the office for the last 5 years.

I am sure that each and every one of you has had dealings with Michelle as the cheery face that greets you in the school office or assists with uniform orders.

On behalf of the whole community, we wish you well in your new role and thank you for your time at OLSC.

Have a great weekend, stay safe and see you all next week.

Justin and all of the staff at OLSC
