Former Languages Staff Member

Former Fairhills High School Japanese teacher Ms Anne de Kretser has been awarded the Japanese Foreign Minister’s Commendation for her significant contribution to promoting Japanese language education in Australia.  

Ms De Kretzer was presented with a certificate and a gift by Consul-General Shimada at his residence on November 30.

Ms De Kretser, who is now the Director of the Monash Japanese Language Education Centre continues her work in conjunction with Ms Jessica Winstone one of our current Japanese teachers, volunteering for the Japanese Language Teachers’ Association of Victoria.

We congratulate Ms De Kretser on this honour, and are proud of the widespread influence our Japanese program has.
