Year 6 into 7 Transition Program

This week we have kicked off our Year 6 into 7 transition program, welcoming Grahamvale, Mooroopna Park and Mooroopna Primary Schools to a Cultural Showcase held in our Theatrette.

Hosted by our First Nations and Multicultural student leaders, the Year 6s were treated to a variety of cultural performances, including a First Nations poem and performance by the Marrung dancers, a song in language showcasing Pasifika culture and a range of traditional dances highlighting the various African cultures.

During the visit, our student leaders led an interactive Q&A session promoting the cultural diversity, celebrations and leadership opportunities here at the college. The GSSC students cited Harmony Day as a highlight on the school calendar and spoke about the various opportunities for them to share their own culture and tradition among their peers and staff and to learn about other cultures.

Our Year 6 students had some fantastic questions for our leaders and we look forward to hosting more primary schools from across our region next week.
