Around The Primary

Dear Families

This week we hosted our Years 4-6 Interhouse Swimming Carnival at Bold Park Aquatic Centre.

Congratulations to the many students who achieved their personal best in events.

Well done to all the students who participated so enthusiastically in the carnival. It was wonderful to see the students cheering on their peers and for the terrific energy that they showed in representing their House. We appreciate the support of the many parents and grandparents that joined us on the day.

We acknowledge the efforts of Mr Williams and class teachers in ensuring the success of this carnival and for providing this excellent growth opportunity for our students. Many students stepped outside of their comfort zone to compete in this event – this resilience and growth mindset will stand them in very good stead for any future challenges.

All Year 6 students are leaders in the Primary school. At today’s Assembly we acknowledged our Year 6 leaders for 2023 and presented them with their Leader’s badge. To be a Year 6 Leader is an honour and provides the students with a great sense of responsibility and ‘service’ leadership in their final year of Primary school. We wish them all the best as they undertake their leadership responsibilities, and we look forward to seeing them hard at work in their various roles around our school community.

Kind regards

Antoinette De Pinto

Head of Primary

Some suggestions for Lent:

  • Alms Giving - Please keep collecting coins for the Caritas Water Wall.
  • Prayer - Everyone is welcome to attend the Community Mass held each Friday at 8am.
  • Fasting - Perhaps a carbon fast where you might try as a family to reduce your energy consumption.

Congratulations to Koolyangarra House, the overall champions for 2023!   Well done to Ward House who took out the House Spirit Award for their banners, cheering and positivity throughout the afternoon.
