Week 7 Update

It has been a busy and positive Week 7 in the Senior School at Macleod College.

Our Year 11 students completed the Level 3 Man Cave and Big Sister Experience workshops this week. These programs focus on developing students’ understanding of identity, respectful relationships, communication and healthy boundaries through interactive discussions and activities.

Students shared some thoughtful reflections following the sessions:

“I liked the way it was presented, getting students involved in activities while we were learning.”

“The topics covered related to a lot of people our age – conversations that we hadn’t had before.”

“It gives you a better understanding and grasp on how to deal with boundaries. The presenters’ stories gave the workshop more depth.”

We thank the facilitators for delivering engaging sessions that encouraged meaningful discussion and reflection among our students.

Week 7 also saw the Senior School representing their houses with distinction at the Athletics Carnival. It was fantastic to see such strong attendance, house spirit and participation throughout the day. A special well done to our staff who limbered up and joined in the fun for the staff vs student relay!

A reminder that the Senior School Careers Expo will take place on Friday 15 May. This is an excellent opportunity for students to explore future pathways and speak with a range of tertiary providers and industry representatives. Parents and carers are asked to please provide consent and payment via Compass if you have not already done so.

Homework Club Reminder for VCE students

Held every Tuesday from 3:10pm in the IMPACT Centre, staff supported with additional La Trobe University students also providing assistance. We encourage our VCE students to make use of this wonderful resource.
