Junior School Report

A Busy and Exciting Middle of the Term
As we reach the middle of the term, it has already been a busy and exciting time for our students. There have been many opportunities for them to learn, challenge themselves and connect with their peers through a range of engaging activities across the school.
Year 7 Optus Digital Thumbprint
Our Year 7 students recently participated in the Optus Digital Thumbprint program, an engaging session designed to help students better understand how to navigate the online world safely and responsibly. Through interactive discussions and activities, students explored topics such as digital footprints, respectful online communication and strategies for staying safe online. The program provided valuable insights and helped students build confidence in making positive choices in digital spaces.
Year 7 Camp – The Briars
Our Year 7 students also enjoyed their first high school camp at The Briars. The camp provided a wonderful opportunity for students to build friendships, develop teamwork skills and challenge themselves through a variety of outdoor activities. From group challenges to exploring the beautiful natural surroundings, students demonstrated resilience, cooperation and enthusiasm throughout the experience. It was fantastic to see students step outside their comfort zones and strengthen connections with their peers and teachers.
Year 8 Kryal Castle Incursion
Year 8 students were transported back in time during the Kryal Castle incursion. This immersive experience brought medieval history to life through engaging demonstrations, storytelling and interactive activities. Students learned about life in medieval times, including armour, weaponry and the social structures of the period. The incursion was both educational and entertaining, helping students deepen their understanding of history in a memorable way.
Whole School Athletics Carnival
Our Whole School Athletics Carnival was a highlight on the school calendar. The day was filled with energy, participation and fantastic displays of sportsmanship. Students competed in a variety of track and field events while also supporting and cheering on their peers. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved, representing their houses with pride and contributing to the positive atmosphere throughout the day.
NAPLAN for Year 7 Students
This week also marks the beginning of NAPLAN testing for our Year 7 students. NAPLAN provides an opportunity for students to demonstrate their skills in literacy and numeracy and helps schools understand how students are progressing. We encourage students to approach the assessments with confidence and simply do their best. We wish all of our Year 7 students the very best as they complete their testing.
It has been a busy and rewarding period for our students, and we are proud of the enthusiasm and positive attitude they continue to show across all aspects of school life. We look forward to many more exciting opportunities throughout the year.
