School Cross Country Carnival

Our School Cross Country event will be held on Wednesday the 25th March at the Quirindi Showground from 11.00am until 2pm. Permission is now up on the COMPASS app. The bus will collect students from school at 10:45am. Students will wear full sports uniform and will also require a hat, drink bottle/s, sunscreen, morning tea and crunch and sip. Students and staff will travel to and from the Showground on a Howards bus and charter coach. We also need volunteers to help run the day so please consider ticking the box on the COMPASS event to help with a water station or checkpoint.

Age Divisions: 

1km - 5,6,7 yrs 

2km - 8/9 yrs & 10 yrs

3km - 11 yrs & 12 yrs 

Order of Events:

10:45am bus picks up from school and takes all students to the racecourse. 

11am - walk the course. 

11:30am - Morning tea

11:45am - races have staggered time starts;

Race 1 - 8/9 year boys and girls

Race 2 - 5/6/7 years boys and girls

Race 3 - 11yr and Senior boys and girls

Race 4 - 10 yr boys and girls

12:45pm - BBQ Lunch1

:30pm - presentation

2:00pm - Students return to school on the bus

Our amazing PTF will be providing a pre order lunch option and the link will be sent out via a newsfeed by the end of this week. 

Diocesan Sport Wrap Up

Diocesan Swimming

On Friday 27th February, five of our students represented our school at the Armidale Catholic Schools Swimming Carnival which was held at the Inverell Aquatic Centre. Congratulations to Lottie, Phoebe, Tayla, Andy and Ryder on some fantastic swimming on the day. All students represented our school with pride and a love for their sport. They were such fantastic supporters of each other, taking the time to cheer each other on in their events. We may be a small school but we sure do have a big heart!

 Extra congratulations to Ryder and Andy who both qualified for the NSWCPS Swimming Championships to be held in Sydney on the 1st of April. Andy was also awarded with reserve 11yr boy age champion on the day, a great achievement. We wish you all the best of luck in Sydney boys, swim hard and have fun!

Diocesan Winter Trials

Tayla, Brooklyn(netball) and Cash (league) represented our school at the Armidale Catholic Schools Winter Sports Trials held in Armidale on Friday the 6th of March. These students were trialing for a position in the Armidale Catholic Schools team for their chosen sport. After speaking to the students, they all had a fun day, met new friends and valued the experience to trial in a competitive nature in their sports. Congratulations for representing our school with such pride and determination, your commitment to sport makes St Joey's very proud of you. 

More Sporting Success

Recently Cruze competed at the Gresford Show and won his rider class receiving Champion Junior Boy Rider, and a Reserve Champion in the small pony division. Due to this success Cruze is now going to compete in the Grand Nationals and the Sydney Royal. We are very proud of your sporting efforts Cruze and we wish you the best of luck in your next competitions.
