Year 10 Concept Art and Digital Rendering (CAnDR)
Year 10 Concept Art and Digital Rendering students have learnt how to work as a Concept Art to produce unique digital landscape pieces that tell an exciting narrative. Starting with a line drawing produced in their Visual Art Journals, students scanned their drawing, and imported it into Adobe Photoshop. They then used digital equipment, including a Wacom Graphics Tablet, to paint their drawing using various digital brushes. The student’s finished artworks have demonstrated incredible detail, along with strong uses of colour! Please take a look at the intriguing pieces and stories below.

Year 10 Melbourne Holocaust Museum Excursion
Our Year 10 cohort visited the Melbourne Holocaust Museum as part of their History class.
The students attended several displays and participated in various activities. They analysed artefacts using the skills they cover in their History class. They attended the museum on a guided tour, which helped them visualise the concepts they had studied. Finally, the most moving moment was listening to a survivor from the holocaust give a testimony.
Students were praised for their excellent conduct - well done, Nazareth!

Cultural Immersion Tour
On Tuesday 28 April, both Unit 3/4 Psychology classes went on an a Cultural Immersion tour to increase our understanding and appreciation of First Nations’ cultures, histories and perspectives as part of our study of learning and memory.
Willum Warrain Aboriginal Gathering Place in Hastings offers tailored Cultural Immersion Tours ideal for VCE Psychology, focusing on Aboriginal learning, memory, and cognitive systems. Tours feature yarning circles, smoking ceremonies, and bush tucker trails, offering insights into spatial memory, songlines, and storytelling.
Students were able to participate in this storytelling, were given first-hand experience of language and dance, as well as examples of material culture including possum skin cloaks and Coolamons.
Students came home with a growing knowledge and appreciation for the culture and traditions of First Nations people and a better ability to discuss their specific strategies that enable effective learning and memory in an oral culture.

Year 9 Business Expo
On Thursday 23 April, our Year 9 students participated in the Year 9 Business Expo. The event is always a highlight of Year 9! It was a very busy night in our Wheeler Auditorium, with lots of parents, relatives and visitors. Working in teams, our students presented a display of their business- including their pitch, their business plans and their marketing materials.
They students did an amazing job on the night, after many weeks of this project based learning. The Popular Vote winner on the night was team "Mane Attraction". Congratulations ladies!
Our Overall Winner and Class Prizes will be announced at a Year 9 assembly in the coming days.
Well done Year 9 and a huge thank you to the Year 9 Humanities Team - Mr Clark, Ms Sifinos, Mr David, Mr Diaz and Mrs Hughes.
