Deputy Principal Staff and Students Report

Return to School

The second term has started well and our students have made a good and solid start. In the last week of term we were very happy and grateful to welcome so many families to the College to meet with teachers for the Student Progress Meetings.  Thank you for your support.

As the students get back into their studies we encourage Parents, Guardians and Carers to talk to your child about the feedback from the reports and the Student Progress Meetings and set some goals for personal growth and development in Term 2. Please feel most welcome to contact Pastoral Teachers or subject teachers to assist with the goal setting.

One of our foci this year has been to get students to take more responsibility for their own learning.  Setting goals and working to the best of your ability as a student is a very positive way to work towards personal growth. Please make time to have a conversation with your child about their growth and development as a learner and do not hesitate to contact relevant staff at the college if we can support in any way.

A reminder to all students and families that in Term 2 and 3 students need to wear a tie and wear their blazers to and from school. If you have any questions about the college uniform please refer to the College Organiser.

Child Safety

Child Safe Standard 4 Families and Communities are informed and involved in promoting Child Safety and Wellbeing.

Each month we are looking at a different Child Safety Standard.  Please click on the link below to look at information from MACS on Standard 4:

Vaping and E-Cigarettes

Over the last few years vaping has become increasingly popular amongst young people. At school we have vape detectors in the bathrooms to try and address this issue. It is important for families to be aware of the issues and significant health risks with vaping.  Please click on the links below to look at the following documents from Griffith University with very important information in relation to vaping and E-Cigarettes.

Easter

As we continue this term we do so in the light of the Risen Lord. We read after Easter in the Acts of the Apostles the story of the early Church where the apostles boldly proclaim to all that Jesus is alive and has Risen from the dead. To this day the Catholic Church continues the mission to witness to the truth that Our Lord was crucified, died and indeed has risen. We pray that our community may be for all who experience a place to encounter the Risen Lord in the people, activities and events each day.

May the peace and joy of the risen Lord fill your heart and family.

God Bless.
