You are invited to Parent Workshop: Navigating the Online World Together

During exam week, our Year 7 and 8 students will participate in the Cyber Lab program with Crazy Ideas College. We will also be hosting a Cyber Lab for Parents Workshop for all Girton parents on 3 June at 5.30pm in the Lecture Theatre. The evening promises valuable insights that are relevant to every family.

About Cyber Lab

Cyber Lab helps young people and the adults around them explore the digital world with greater clarity and intention. For parents, this means understanding what is shaping young people’s online behaviours, and building practical ways to support boundaries, wellbeing, identity and relationships. The Cyber Lab for Parents experience blends reflection, shared discussion and practical tools.

The session includes real insights, themes and statistics drawn from what young people tell us when they complete the Cyber Lab experience. This helps parents better understand what children are navigating and creates a more authentic starting point for meaningful conversations at home.

When: Wednesday 3 June at 5:30pm

Where: Lecture Theatre in the Naunton Family Building, Vine St (Senior School campus)

Martin Vale Dentistry Mobile Dental Van

Martin Vale Dentistry's Mobile Dental Van will be onsite at the Junior School for dental checkups on 1 and 2 June. If you would like your child to participate, please complete the form: https://form.jotform.com/220327988392062

The Commonwealth Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) allows eligible children basic dental treatment over a 2-year period. This can be accessed during school hours via the services of a school dental van, which are fully equipped to perform examinations, x-rays, fillings, scaling and cleaning, as well as apply preventive medicaments and extractions. The process:

  • First visit - Students eligible for CDBS receive examination, x-rays, fluoride and fissure sealant. Parents are then contacted by phone to discuss a treatment plan if required. Students not eligible for CDBS funding receive dental screening, and parents are contacted to discuss if a private appointment is recommended.
  • Follow-up visit - Students undergo the treatment plan discussed and consented to. Parents are welcome to attend the van while their child has treatment.

Opportunity for students to attend Musical Theatre Workshop with professional actor Jackson Head

Gallery Image

We are excited to offer students the opportunity to participate in a Musical Theatre Workshop with professional actor Jackson Head on Monday 22 June, the first day of the school holidays.

Jackson Head recently performed as Gaston in the Australasian Tour of Beauty and the Beast and has extensive experience working professionally in musical theatre. During the workshop, students will explore acting for the stage, character development, performance skills, musical theatre techniques, and professional-level audition preparation.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to work closely with an industry professional and further develop their confidence and performance skills in a supportive setting.

Workshop Details

Date: Monday 22 June

Time: 9:00am – 4:00pm

Location: Black Box Theatre, Girton Grammar

Who: Students in Years 7–12

Please note that there will be a cost involved to attend the workshop. The final cost per student will depend on the number of students who register their interest.

Places are limited. Parent/guardian permission is required for attendance, and the workshop cost will be charged to students' school accounts.

Students who are interested should complete this form by 4 June. Registering interest does not guarantee attendance, but will assist us in determining numbers and confirming pricing information before final registrations are opened.

We look forward to seeing students take advantage of this exciting opportunity.
