Y11 RYDA Safety Excursion

Vermont Secondary College

THURSDAY JUNE 5 - Please ensure your consent and payment in Compass are completed as soon as possible.

The Year 11 Road Safety excursion (RYDA) is running on Thursday June 5 this year.  We consider this workshop of utmost relevance to our students and their safety.

The excursion will benefit students and their driving, whether they are learners, licensed or just considering getting on the road.

It will be an all-day event with buses returning students back to VSC around 3pm.

Year 11 classes will not run that day as the majority of cohort will be on excursion,

COST $42

One of the reasons we urge all Year 11 students to attend is that young people continue to be overrepresented in road deaths and serious injuries.

The day covers practical workshops which features six sessions of highly engaging practical demonstrations, real-life narratives, videos, quizzes and interactive role play. Students are also given access to an online revision course through our Learning Management System.

The workshops were created for senior high schools, RYDA supports students in growing social resilience and introduces them to how to anticipate and manage risk and gives students a unique opportunity to set road safety goals and build strategies alongside the friends they will most likely be riding with, as drivers or passengers.
