Last Friday, the Vermont Secondary science leaders organised a trivia session for all students to participate in that tested their general science knowledge. It was followed by a demonstration that violently set a gummy bear on fire! Be sure to watch out for announcements for another trivia session (and other cool demonstrations) in a fortnight.
This week in Year 12, physics students are working with coils of wire and magnets to generate electricity, while our Year 11 students are working together to better understand the concepts that underpin voltage and current measured throughout an electrical circuit.
And in exciting news...
VSC has launched its new LEGO Robotics club and students have been busy unpacking our new LEGO spike kits and organising all the donated LEGO pieces from our school community. Thank you to all that donated, our students are looking forward to building their skills in programming and building design solutions. More information will be shared from the group as their prepare for FIRST LEGO League (FLL) competition later this year.
