Year 9 Camp

Year 9 Melbourne Discovery Camp 2025 - TSL

I am thrilled to report that the Year 9 Melbourne Discovery Camp, held from Wednesday, 7th May to Friday, 9th May 2025, was a huge success! Our students represented the school with maturity, curiosity, and enthusiasm throughout the experience. The students were outstanding and held the college and their families in high esteem, something we are very proud of.

Day One – Wednesday 7th May

The group departed Pakenham by V-Line train, arriving at Southern Cross Station ready for adventure. After dropping bags at CYC City, students headed to the Melbourne Museum, where they explored exhibitions on culture, science, and history. Their thoughtful questions and interest in the displays were a highlight of the day.

Day Two – Thursday 8th May

After a hearty breakfast, students took in stunning views from the Eureka Skydeck before walking to the Shrine of Remembrance to explore Australia’s military past.

Later, the group enjoyed a behind-the-scenes MCG tour and a visit to the Sports Museum, learning about our rich sporting heritage.

That evening, students relaxed with a movie at Crown Village Cinemas, followed by a magical stroll along Southbank to see Crown’s iconic Flame Towers in action.

Day Three – Friday 9th May

After packing up and breakfast, the final stop was a cultural experience at the Queen Victoria Market. Students had some free time to explore and enjoy lunch provided by the accommodation, and they purchased a few gifts in preparation for Mother's Day.

We are incredibly proud of how our Year 9 students conducted themselves across the camp they were respectful, engaged and supportive of one another. Thank you to the staff who made the camp possible and the families for supporting our camp program.
