Year 12 Learning Community News

The year is already racing by for our Year 12 students, and before we know it, they’ll be embarking on their next great adventure. The upcoming holidays present the perfect opportunity to strike a healthy balance between rest, study, work and sport. 

Year 12 VCE students have recently completed their Unit 3 trial exams, which are an important opportunity to gain experience with the exam process ahead of the end-of-year assessments. It is essential that students review their exams carefully, identifying both their strengths and the areas that need further attention. As the end-of-year exams can assess any content covered since the start of rollover in November, now is the time to begin consistent and focused revision.

To help kick-start exam preparation, we’ll continue to share details of online revision lectures via Teams as they become available. In the meantime, students can register for ACU’s free Year 12 workshops—full details are available here:

Congratulations to all Year 12s on completing the General Achievement Test. Their outstanding attitude and behaviour during both sessions ensured everything ran seamlessly, and we hope they enjoyed the pizza lunch as much as we enjoyed providing it for them.

This year, we introduced a table tennis table in the Senior School building for students to enjoy during their breaks. It has been a huge success, with students making the most of it before school, at recess, lunch, and even after school. It’s been fantastic to see both Year 11 and Year 12 students coming together, building connections, and sharpening their skills in such a positive and active way.

Uniform

As we move into the colder weather, it is important that all students continue to wear the correct uniform. Below are a few reminders from the uniform policy:

• Scarves must be the KWRSC scarf available from the uniform shop or a plain navy blue or white with no logos or writing

• Additional layers of clothing may be worn underneath the uniform for added warmth, provided these undergarments are completely hidden.

Term 3 is a short one—just 9 weeks—so it’s important that students remain focused and continue putting in their best effort, as the end of the year will arrive quickly. To put it in perspective, VCE students have only 54 school days remaining, and VCE VM students just 33.

Finally, we warmly welcome Nikita Stokkel to the Year 12 Learning Community in the role of coordinator. We also extend our sincere thanks to Amy Rae for her dedication and hard work in the coordinator role this year and wish her all the very best as she prepares to welcome her baby in term 3.
