Mission Month

Over the last month, our dynamic new House Captains for Ursula, Merici, La Salle, and Benilde houses have been hard at work organising and running a series of fun fundraising stalls to support an incredible cause: Catholic Mission efforts to help homeless men, women, and children in Mongolia.

The spirit of generosity has been alive at O'Connor, with students flocking to enjoy the tasty treats offered by each house. From crispy Hot Chips & Soft Drinks with the Ursula Captains, scrumptious Sausage Sizzles and cool Zooper Doopers with Merici, refreshing La Sallian Lemonade Slushies with La Salle, to indulgent Ice Cream Sundaes with Benilde, and finishing off with a good old bake sale run, it's been a feast of fun and fundraising!

UNE National Ag Day 2024

On Friday 15, November, 5 students from the 11 Agriculture and 11 Primary Industries classes attended UNE for National Ag Day 2024, where they were presented with the question "What does it take to make a net zero steak?".

Speakers from many well-respected institutes including UNE, and MLA spoke on changes occurring within the cattle industry from genetics through to marketing of the final product, all in the name of decreasing the impacts of CO2 and methane from agriculture on the environment.

Meat scientist Peter McGilchrist and chef Sam Burke then treated us to a spectacular lunch showcasing the beef they have been working on and giving us an insight into the best cuts and how to cook them.

We would like to thank UNE and all those involved in this wonderful and delicious event!
