Leader of Pedagogy

Ms Natalie Mellowship (Years 7-9) & Mrs Jenny Roff ( Years 10-12)

As the 2024 academic year draws to a close, our focus naturally begins to shift towards planning for the year ahead. This past week, I had the privilege of attending the Assistant Principal/Leader of Pedagogy Conference, where educational leaders from across the Diocese came together to collaborate and strategise for the 2025 academic year.

The conference provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on our shared mission to foster excellence in teaching and learning while staying true to our Catholic ethos. Key discussions revolved around strengthening student engagement, embedding evidence-based teaching practices, and supporting staff development.

One of the most exciting aspects of the conference was the chance to explore innovative strategies that align with our College's vision for continuous improvement. At O'Connor Catholic College, we remain committed to ensuring that every student thrives academically, socially, and spiritually. Strategic planning for 2025 will centre on deepening our use of data to inform practice, and fostering a culture of collaboration across all stages of learning.

As Leader of Pedagogy, my role is to ensure that these strategic goals translate into meaningful actions in the classroom. This means working closely with teachers to design engaging lessons, providing professional development opportunities, and supporting the implementation of contemporary learning strategies that cater to the needs of every student.
