At St Francis Xavier School

Greetings St Francis Xavier Families,
The season of Advent will commence on November 30th.
Advent is a special time in our Catholic community, inviting us to prepare our hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. As we light the candles each week, we are reminded of hope, peace, joy, and love. Our community is encouraged to pray together, show kindness, and take quiet moments to reflect on God’s presence in our lives. Let us journey through Advent with gratitude and faith, ready to welcome the true meaning of Christmas.
CONFIRMATION 2025
Congratulations to Allira, Ashirin, Carmen, Eva, Gianni, Holly, Lincoln, Mackenzie and Marsarlina who received the Sacrament of Confirmation on Sunday November 9th. I know I say this every year but I am always so proud of our students and the effort they put into their sacramental preparation. Fr Jude, who led the mass, with Fr Micheal assisting, ensured it was a sacred, joyful celebration. My sincere thanks to Miss Lisa and Mr Will who implemented a wonderful preparation program for the candidates.
INDIGENOUS ARTIST WORKSHOP
We were honoured to have indigenous artist Samantha Trist working with our Fire Carrier Students last Tuesday. Sammy spent time sharing her Kulin culture with the Fire Carriers, taught them painting techniques with ochre on leaves and then supported them to create two beautiful prayer cloths for our school.
SFX GIVING TREE
Each Christmas we organise an appeal for a local charity. We call this the ‘Giving Tree Appeal’ as the children get to place their items around our school Christmas tree.
Once again this year we have decided to donate to Community Support Frankston, a not-for-profit organisation that provides emergency relief, community information and support services for those experiencing hardship within the Frankston municipality.
Over the three weeks, beginning Monday, 24th November until Monday, December 15th we are inviting families to make a contribution by donating any of the following items:
- Non perishable groceries
- Toiletries such as shampoo, soap, deodorant, etc
- Christmas fare and new unwrapped toys (must be at school by Monday 8th December)
Community Support Frankston have always been very appreciative of your generosity towards this appeal and our children are keen to contribute knowing their donations help others.
FINAL MASSES FOR 2025
Tuesday 3rd December 9:15am - Whole School - St Francis Xavier Feast Day
Our end of year mass is on Tuesday, 16th December at 1:45pm.
Warmest wishes and God's blessings,
