Inquiry / Writing

The 1/2s have been learning all about our Solar System.

We have been investigating the planets and  getting creative by designing our very own planet. We buddied up with others and became scientific researchers, finding out all about the sun, the stars and the moon.  We have written information reports about our own planets and some of us are even writing narratives based on our planets too!

 We are really looking forward to welcoming you all to our whole school Showcase of Learning on Thursday 2nd December from 2pm, when you can see all the amazing work we have been doing during this term.

Ms Laura & Ms Terri's Maths Group

During maths lessons in Ms Laura & Ms Terri's room, we have been investigating pattern. This week's focus has been on number patterns that increase or decrease by a constant amount. We can look at number patterns and identify the rule it follows. We can continue a pattern when given a rule, and also create our own pattern rules for others to follow. 

Next week we will be focusing on patterns using hands on materials.

Ed in Faith

The Grade 2's have thoroughly enjoyed taking the prayer bags home to share with their families. This week our Ed in Faith focus has been on prayer.  We have explored different types of prayer such as formal prayers that we say during Mass, The Our Father, giving thanks each day before we eat lunch, and also gratitude prayers. We focused on praying for others, and each child has written their own five finger prayer. 

Italian Day

We are looking forward to celebrating Italian Day next Monday.
