Water Safety Day - by Kaley

On Friday of Week 5, the Grade 5/6s went to the PARC swimming pool for some water safety activities. There were activities about DRS.ACBD, how to help stop someone from drowning, what to do if your boat sinks, and a basketball game in the pool. My favourite activity was the basketball in the water. It was fun going to the pool!

Education in Faith

In Education in Faith this term, we have been looking at two main topics: Confirmation & the Holy Spirit, and 'Pilgrims of Hope'. Students have done some fantastic work in this area, including a deep dive into the Bible for some passages relating to the Holy Spirit, and an exploration of Saints, such as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, who embody the values of our Jubilee theme. A huge congratulations as well to the Grade 6 students who received the sacrament of Confirmation last weekend. It was a beautiful service.

Literacy - Theatre Edition!

This term, students have been studying scripts in Reading, and then created their own in Writing. Last Friday, we performed the plays (which all had a social story theme) for the Prep students. It was really amazing to see so many students standing up and performing confidently, the vast majority not even needing their scripts!

Important Dates

We have so many incredible things to look forward to in the Grade 5/6 space this term that I thought I would add them here each fortnight to help you keep track!

 

Week 7

  • Friday 21st of November - Cricket Lightning Premiership (Grade 5/6 Girls Team to attend).

 

Week 8

  • Monday 24th of November - Italian Day. Please check Seesaw & Operoo for all details. Both the Operoo and the Google Form will need to be completed for students to be able to enjoy the tasty treats!
  • Tuesday the 25th of November - Grade 6 Leadership Speeches. 
  • Thursday the 27th of November - School Disco

 

Week 9

  • Tuesday 2nd of December - Science Week Rotations
  • Wednesday 3rd of December - SFX Feast Day
  • Thursday 4th of December - Science Learning Showcase
  • Friday 5th of December - Science Incursion
