Adventure into the Wild!

We had such a magical day, despite the weather - discovering wildlife at the Yarra Valley Zoo in Mount Evelyn. Our tour guides for the day; Sam, Will, Jess and Tegan shared animal care information and their knowledge about many native animals including Emu’s, Koala’s and Kangaroo’s. The children thought it was hilarious when they were told the names of the turtles; Quarter Pounder and Big Mac!

A memorable experience for all students was Koala petting and a photo with the zoo’s male Koala, Bazza.

Prep Student: “I liked seeing the giant Parrots (Macaw)”.

Tyson: “My favourite part at the Yarra Valley Zoo was patting the Frilled Neck Lizard”

Kyrro: “My favourite experience at the Yarra Valley Zoo was seeing and feeding a Kangaroo”.

We would like to show our appreciation to Steve, Louise and Michael from Yarra Valley Zoo for offering their school tours, free of charge.
