Co-Curricular - Junior Sport Stage 3

Last week, I mentioned that our Athletics Team were competing at the IPSHA Athletics Carnival. I am very proud to say that all our boys were very competitive in their heats and events. The team walked away with a number of ribbons, many of which were blue (first place). This has resulted in eight students being nominated to represent IPSHA at the upcoming NSWCIS Carnival on Friday 4 September at SOPAC, Homebush. Congratulations to the whole squad and particularly those that have moved on to higher representation: Elliott A, Matteo B, Charlie C, Marco D, Liam D, Ari I, Romeo M, and Alessandro M. We wish you all the best boys, as you represent yourselves, the College and IPSHA at the next carnival.

While in the congratulating mood, Nicolas O of Year 5 recently competed in the All Schools Taekwondo Championships. Nicolas had his final fight against a 

student from Trinity. 

 

Nicolas came out on top with a convincing 8-1 victory, earning himself a gold medal.  

 

Well done Nicolas for representing the College, your family and yourself so well.

 

 

A reminder of two important events:

 

  1. Junior School Winter Presentation Evening – Friday 11 September 5:30 PM, College Gymnasium. All boys playing winter sport are expected to be in attendance. Full winter uniform should be worn. No blue cap, please.

     

  2. Chess Presentation Night – Tuesday 8 September, 5:30 PM in the Robson Auditorium. This is a combined presentation with the Senior School and boys should wear full college winter uniform, without the blue cap.

     

  3. Junior School Sport Photos – Monday 21 September, College Hall. Boys should wear their College uniform as usual and bring their playing uniform for photos. Boys who have represented at IPSHA level or higher will have separate photos taken in their representative uniform (or black supporter’s polo if this is unavailable). Boys who competed in squads (athletics, swimming, cross country) will have photos taken in their black supporter’s polo. The photo timetable will be shared in classrooms and made available on TASS closer to the date.

     

Summer sport recommences when we return in Term 4. The draft draw and training schedule will be released shortly once they have been confirmed.
