School Events
Rock Band Recording Studio Day
Tuesday was a very exciting day for all Rock Band students. Students met at 9.00am in the Music Studio at school to discuss the day and to make sure we had all our equipment. Then it off to Lalor North Secondary College in a Maxi Taxi. At Lalor North we were greeted by Phil who is the Sound Engineer and Phil looked after us for the day. Our students were thrilled to see all the different instruments in the Recording Studio and after a quick sound check we started our rehearsals.
Songs covered during this time included:
- Old Time Rock & Roll
- We Will Rock You
- Proud Mary
- Rockin’ All Over the World
- Jailhouse Rock &
- Riptide
Our band played extremely well and we only needed 2 to 3 run-throughs for each song and Phil was extremely impressed with the talent we have in our group.
All students voiced their approval of the event and we would like to thank Sandra T. for coming along and providing expert vocals and to Lee W. who helps out at each band rehearsal (and is the cool bass player) during our lunchtime practices. Also, a huge thanks to Mrs Lloyd, Mrs Beare, the leadership team and Zoe H. for their continued support of the band.
We next turn our attention to Thursday the 1st of September for the Lalor North Secondary College Winter Concert. Our band ‘The Rocky Heights’ will be performing two songs so please come along on the night (6.30pm start at 114 Childs Road) and join in the fun.

Wow, Book Week 2026 did not disappoint!
So incredibly proud of all the students (and special person!) who put so much heart and
creativity into their costumes today. Seeing these stories come to life is pure magic.
