Principal's Message
Dear Parents/Carers
Welcome to the final two weeks of Term3. The weather is slightly warmer and the days are definitely longer. Finally Spring is on the way!
End-of-Term Check-In Conferences
Our end-of-term check-in conferences will take place next week. Conferences will be held face-to-face on Tuesday and Wednesday, with phone appointments available on Thursday only. Bookings will open through Compass from Tuesday morning.
These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect and discuss your child’s learning, progress and wellbeing as we approach the end of Term 3. We encourage families to make a booking where possible and look forward to sharing the many achievements and areas of growth we have seen throughout the term.
Please note that Ms Nolan is currently on leave and will not be holding conferences next week.
SunSmart – Hats Are Back!
With the arrival of spring and the warmer weather, our SunSmart expectations are once again in place. Students are now required to wear their school hat when outside, including during recess, lunchtime and outdoor learning activities.
Please take a moment to check that your child has their hat at school and, importantly, that it is clearly labelled with their name. With many identical hats around the school, clear labelling makes it much easier for misplaced hats to find their way back to their owners.
Respecting Our School Environment
Over the final two weeks of term, we will continue to strengthen our focus on respect and keeping our school clean and tidy.
Taking pride in our school environment is one of the many ways our students can demonstrate respect for their school. We will be reminding students to pick up after themselves, take care of our gardens and play spaces, and make sure food wrappers and other rubbish are placed in the bin.
Chris Beare’s Retirement
As mentioned in our previous newsletter, our Principal, Chris Beare, will be retiring at the end of the 2026 school year.
Chris has led MPHPS for the past seven years and, during this time, has made an extraordinary contribution to our school community. Under her leadership, the school has experienced significant growth and improvement, particularly in the areas of teaching and learning, curriculum implementation and the development of our school grounds and environment. Her commitment to ensuring our students have access to high-quality learning experiences and welcoming, engaging spaces has had a lasting impact on our school.
There will be much more to say about Chris and her many achievements next term as we have the opportunity to reflect on and celebrate her seven years of leadership at MPHPS.
For now, I would like to congratulate Chris on her impending retirement and this exciting next chapter. I am very much looking forward to continuing to work alongside her throughout the remainder of 2026 and making the most of her final months with our school community.
Celebrating the End of Term
We have an exciting final day of Term 3 planned for Friday 18 September, with two fantastic whole-school events to bring our term to a close.
Keep an eye out for further information about our Jump Rope for Heart Jump Off, which will be a wonderful opportunity for students to come together, get active and celebrate their participation in the program.
We will also be holding our whole-school AFL Footy Day, giving students and staff the chance to celebrate the excitement of finals season. More information about both events, including what students can wear and what they may need to bring, will be shared with families shortly.
With so much happening, it promises to be a fun and energetic way to finish another busy term!
A reminder to all families that school will finish at 1:00 pm on Friday 18 September. Please ensure arrangements are in place for your child to be collected at the earlier finishing time.
