你 好 (ni hao)
This Week
The Leadership Centre has been working very hard on putting together their speeches for the upcoming Public Speaking Competition in English classes and has also been learning about different methods to effectively capture their audience. In Maths, students have been learning strategies (such as bar models, number bonds, area models, and vertical algorithms) to calculate and solve multiplication and division problems. We are also learning about different forms of design and how we can see design creatively in the world around us.
In 3/4, students have read, The Mess That We Made by Julia Blattman and Michelle Lord. The book is a call to action to prevent pollution and overfishing to save our seas. We have then used this knowledge to learn about exposition writing, by convincing readers to protect our ocean. In writing, we have had a particular focus on extending our ideas by turning simple sentences into complex sentences. During Maths, we have focused on solving worded problems involving multiplication and division. It has been a busy week of learning, with a building eagerness for 3/4 camp next week!
Looking Ahead
We are excited for all that Term 4 has in store and look forward to a fantastic term of learning, growth and new experiences!
Warm regards,
The Senior School Team
Nick, Julia, Amanda, Gabby, Yana, Miss Liu, Roz, Miss Teo, Ciara, Claire and Sam

Attention Year 6 Families - Baby Photos for Graduation
We are looking forward to celebrating Year 6 graduation at the end of the year, with preparations already underway!
One of our beloved traditions is sharing three baby photos from between the ages of 0-5 as part of the presentation. We are asking if you could please email to us with these three photos in an attachment by November 30th. We are aware that there have been some issues with this email - gradesixgraduation@gmail.com. So we would kindly recommend that you send the photos to your child's classroom teacher instead through Compass.
We usually recommend one baby photo, one toddler and one around kinder age, but any family favourites will be great!
Also, if your child attended another school prior to MPRPS and you have their school photos, it would also be much appreciated if you could send those through.
We will send reminder messages over the coming weeks, but we like to get an early start as it takes a while to collate everything! Thank you so much for your support!
