L.O.T.E. - German

Guten Tag!
Our whole school artwork that combines every student's mini figure (coloured in on German Day) has turned out beautifully. WIR LERNEN DEUTSCH means We are learning German. Thank you to the Grade 6 students that helped our LOTE leaders put it all together.
The artwork will find a special place in our German room. It represents our whole school journey of learning and embracing a new language that has begun this year.
In the classroom, we have been busy learning about School in Germany.
Students have been very interested in finding out how different school life in another country can be. There is no school uniform in Germany, the school day is much shorter and students wear slippers in primary school. How interesting!
We focussed on learning about the tradition of a SCHULTÜTE: On their first day of school, German students receive a large cone-shaped bag filled with lollies, school supplies and little surprises to celebrate the special occasion.
Have a wonderful week!
