"The Minh Story" is coming to Koonung

From Koonung to London: Supporting International Students on the Global Stage

Koonung Secondary College is proud to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our music teacher, Adrian De Luca, whose tireless advocacy for international student victims of crime has taken him from our classrooms to the global stage.

Adrian is the Founder of the We Are Australia Foundation, the only charity in the country solely dedicated to supporting international students in crisis. Born out of his unwavering support for former student Minh Tuan Duong following a brutal attack more than a decade ago, Adrian’s work has provided vital assistance, emergency relief, and pathways to recovery for countless students.

In recognition of this impact, the Foundation has been named a Finalist in the Student Support category at the 2025 PIEoneer Awards in London. Adrian will represent Australia at the ceremony on September 5 at Guildhall, a milestone further acknowledged by a personal letter of congratulations from the Prime Minister’s Office.

We look forward to welcoming Adrian’s inspirational production, “The Minh Story”, to Koonung in the near future, where our community will have the chance to experience firsthand this powerful story of resilience, hope, and the difference one teacher can make. Further details to come.
