Term 3 Highlights 2026
What a busy and adventure-filled term 3 we had last term with Boronia Group!
Last term the children continued to build friendships, develop connections and get to know one another through play and shared learning experiences.
Learning About Personal Space
One of our group goals this term has been developing children's understanding of personal space. The children have been learning about their own "space bubbles" and exploring ways to communicate with others when they feel someone is too close or when they need a little more space. This has provided many opportunities to discuss respecting ourselves and others while developing positive relationships.
Discovering Nature
Our backyard has continued to provide plenty of excitement and opportunities for discovery. The children have been thrilled to spot a variety of insects and have enjoyed observing, discussing and wondering about the creatures they have found. These experiences have encouraged curiosity, observation and an appreciation for the natural world around them.
Sensory Explorations
The children have enjoyed getting messy and creative through a range of sensory experiences, including seed trays, salt trays and bubble painting. These activities have encouraged children to explore different textures, experiment with materials and use their senses while developing creativity and fine motor skills.
Outdoor Adventures
We have made the most of the beautiful winter days by spending plenty of time outdoors. The children have created imaginative games, built a variety of constructions and enjoyed developing new friendships while strengthening existing connections with their peers.
Celebrating Book Week
Leading up to and following Book Week, our indoor role-play spaces included the Livingston Shop, an airport and a restaurant. These engaging environments inspired the children to immerse themselves in imaginative play while developing important skills in language, negotiation, problem-solving, cooperation and creativity.
One of the highlights of the term was, of course, Book Week itself. We were delighted to see an amazing array of storybook characters arrive at kinder throughout the week. The excitement and enthusiasm were wonderful to see and helped foster a love of books, stories and imaginative play.
It was a wonderful term 3 filled with friendship, discovery, creativity and adventure. We are very proud of all the learning and growth we have seen in the children and look forward to seeing this continue in the remaining months ahead in this last term.
