Director's Report

Hello Parents,

It’s a pleasure to share last term's fun and highlights that the children experienced through play and hands-on learning, and we also look ahead at what to expect for the remainder of 2026 at Livingston.

In Term 3, the children and our kinder community...

• Enjoyed September's Family Session: Opening the doors to caregivers and special family members in celebration of Father's Day. It was lovely seeing so many families spending time together and sharing in their children’s learning experiences. Thank you to everyone who joined in to help make the session such a success.
• Highett Gym Excursion: The 4-year-olds ventured across the road to show off their gymnastic skills! Thanks to the gym for generously donating their time and facilities to our kindergarten. These experiences provide valuable opportunities for children to develop their gross motor skills, including balance, coordination, strength and body awareness, while having fun and building confidence in their physical abilities.

• Hosted a Fundraising sausage sizzle: A big thank you to the parents and committee members who generously gave their time and hospitality skills at our Bunnings sausage sizzle, helping raise $3,650 to put towards upgrading educational games, replacing old toys and maintenance across outdoor equipment. Well done everyone!

   

We also hope to make some tweaks to our outdoor environment, including improvements to drainage, extension of the sandpit and the addition of more natural elements in the side planted area. These changes will continue to support children’s exploration, creativity and learning through play, while making our outdoor spaces even more inviting and engaging.

As we continue to strengthen our kindergarten community, I would like to take a moment to acknowledge the wonderful support we have received from our committee, families and wider community.

A big thank you to our committee for the time and effort they have put into developing procedures and practices that support the kindergarten. These processes help ensure that our day-to-day operations run smoothly and that handovers between committee members are more consistent and manageable. We truly appreciate the work that goes on behind the scenes to support our kindergarten.

The committee plays a vital role in shaping the future of our kindergarten and offers a valuable opportunity to become involved in your child's early education, connect with other families and contribute to our kindergarten community.
