In Religion, students have been learning about Tefillin, the special black boxes that Jewish people wear during morning prayers.
We focused on the Shel Yad, the Tefillin that is placed on the arm, close to the heart. Inside the box are special sections from the Shema: “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.”
The Shel Yad reminds us that loving The Lord is not only something we feel in our hearts - it is something we can show through our actions, choices, and the way we live each day.
In Writing, students have been learning about personification, learning to give human qualities, feelings, or actions to non-human things. We have been exploring how personification can make our writing more interesting, imaginative and descriptive. Here are some we would like to share.
