Acting Principal's Message
Mrs Lauren Hall | Acting Principal
As the term draws to a close, I would like to say a huge thank you to our students, staff and families for another amazing term at JPII.
We have been able to provide our students with some fantastic learning opportunities, both here at school and through experiences beyond school. These opportunities have encompassed a wonderful range of sporting, cultural and musical experiences, as well as extended academic opportunities.
It has been wonderful to see our students embrace these experiences with enthusiasm, curiosity and a willingness to learn. These opportunities not only enrich their learning but also help them to develop new skills, build confidence and create wonderful memories.
As we look towards Term 4, we have many more exciting opportunities for our students to engage in and look forward to.
Camps
Our Grade 4 - Grade 6 students will commence their camp experiences, with each year level having the opportunity to participate in a camp program designed to build confidence, independence and resilience.
Our Grade 6 students will head away in Week 3 to Camp Clayton for a three night camp. During their time away, students will participate in a range of team building activities designed to develop resilience, strengthen relationships and foster a strong sense of belonging within the group.
Our Grade 5 students will travel to Spring Beach in Week 7 for a two night camp. Students will participate in a range of outdoor activities, providing opportunities to challenge themselves, develop new skills and work collaboratively with their peers.
Our Grade 4 students will attend their first overnight camp at Blue Lagoon in Week 8. This will be an exciting opportunity for students to experience being away from home, develop their independence and build confidence in a supportive environment.
These camp experiences provide our students with valuable opportunities to develop resilience, independence and confidence, while fostering a positive “can-do” attitude. They encourage students to step outside their comfort zones, support one another and create lasting memories with their classmates.
A big thank you to the dedicated staff who make these experiences possible for our students. Their willingness to give up their time, spend nights away from home and support our students throughout these experiences is very much appreciated. These opportunities would not be possible without their commitment and dedication.
Water Awareness: Weeks 5 & 6
At JPII, we are pleased to offer our students the opportunity to participate in a Water Awareness Program at Oceana. This is a wonderful program that caters for students of all abilities and levels of confidence in the water.
During the first week, all students from Prep - Grade 6 will participate in the program. The second week will be delivered to our Grade 3 - Grade 6 students.
If you have any concerns about the program or your child’s ability to participate, please direct your initial questions or concerns to your child’s classroom teacher.
More information about the program will be provided early next term.
We hope all our students have a wonderful break and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4!
