Heatherwood Facebook
We are very happy to share our Facebook group with all the Heatherwood families.
A private, positive and safe group to connect with others, arrange coffee catch ups, pass on old uniforms, share advice, ask for advice, etc.
To access the group, please click the link, answer some questions, and then apply to join. There are some rules to follow, and all posts will require approval before they are posted. There is plenty of chat, so please don’t be shy and come and visit the group.
We look forward to connecting with many more families and helping support the group to evolve into a space that bridges the social gap.
Free public transport
From Thursday 1 January 2026, people aged under 18 can travel free on all Victorian public transport services. This includes trams, trains, buses and coach services.
To access free travel from January, they must use a new youth myki card and tap the card on and off each time they travel. For areas that do not use myki cards, they must show their myki card to travel free.
If you are 18, or a tertiary student, you may be eligible for a concession fare.

- Building your teen’s independence
- School and post-school options
- Wellbeing: friendships, communication, behaviour support and good mental health
A series of three consecutive workshops, starting:
- Monday 4 May, 7:00 pm
- Tuesday 5 May, 7:00 pm
- Wednesday 6 May, 10:00 am
Each workshop covers a different topic over three weeks. All workshops are led by facilitators who are parents of children with disability.
