Message from Karlie Gooding

And just like that, we’ve reached the end of Term 3!

It has been another busy and rewarding term at Heatherwood School, with our students and staff embracing their learning, taking on new challenges and making the most of the many opportunities across our school. It has been wonderful to see our students continuing to grow in confidence, independence and connection, while celebrating their individual strengths and achievements.

Term Highlights

There have been so many highlights across Heatherwood this term! Our Year 9 students participated in the Future Ready program, developing important skills and knowledge to support their transition towards future pathways, while our Senior Industry Days provided students with valuable opportunities to explore different industries, workplaces and employment options.

Our Year 10 students also participated in Work Experience, building confidence, independence and practical workplace skills in real-world settings. Our Year 7 students put their enterprise, communication and teamwork skills into action through their Market Stalls, creating and selling products in the section.

Across the school, students and staff enjoyed our Book Week and Footy Day celebrations, providing opportunities for connection, participation and plenty of fun. We were incredibly proud of our students who participated in the Victorian State Schools Spectacular, showcasing their talent, creativity and commitment on a state-wide stage.

Our students have also represented Heatherwood through School Sport Victoria (SSV) and Interschool Sport, demonstrating great sportsmanship, teamwork and determination while achieving some fantastic sporting results. It has been wonderful to see our students getting involved, challenging themselves and celebrating their strengths across so many different opportunities this term.

As we look towards the final term of the year, there is still plenty happening across Heatherwood, with lots of exciting learning and opportunities ahead. For now, however, it is time to take a well-earned break, recharge and enjoy some quality time with family and friends.

Just a reminder that there is a Curriculum Day on Monday 5 October. We look forward to welcoming everyone back for Term 4 on Tuesday 6 October.
