Principal's Message

What a wonderful season we are stepping into! Each morning the sunshine seems to greet us a little earlier and each evening stretches just that bit longer. The warmth in the air and the glow of the sun bring such a sense of joy and energy. Driving through my street it’s impossible not to notice the blossoms bursting from the trees and the flowers adding splashes of colour everywhere. Spring always reminds us of new beginnings, fresh energy and the beauty of growth all around us.

As we approach the end of the term, this change in season feels perfectly timed. These upcoming holidays are my favourite, an opportunity to pause, reflect and enjoy the simple things. It is a wonderful season to get outdoors, whether it’s a walk in the sunshine, a bike ride through the neighbourhood, or simply enjoying the longer evenings together. Families might like to explore local parks, visit the library, or try cooking something new at home together. These shared moments, whether big or small, are what our children remember most.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all our staff, students and families for their support and engagement throughout the term. We appreciate all that you do for your children, the encouragement at home, the time spent at school events and the day to day commitment to learning. It is always so lovely to see our families connecting with one another in the mornings and afternoons. What a special community we are fortunate to have here at our school.

For our students and staff, this holiday is more than just a break from the classroom, it’s a chance to rest and recharge. We know how hard everyone has worked this term and Term 4 will bring plenty of learning, events and celebrations. Just as the blossoms flourish after winter, we are confident our students will return refreshed, ready to embrace new opportunities and continue to grow in both their learning and their friendships.

We encourage you to take this time to slow down. Let the Spring season inspire you to spend more time outside, connect with loved ones and make space for things that bring you happiness.

Colour Fun Run

Thank you to all the families who have already registered their child for our fundraiser this year,  your support is greatly appreciated!

We are excited to announce that our Colour Fun Run will take place on Friday, 31st October at 1:00pm, in celebration of St Martin’s Feast Day. Please pop this date in your diaries, it promises to be a joyful and vibrant afternoon for our whole school community!

The Colour Fun Run is not only a major fundraising event, but also a wonderful opportunity to come together and celebrate the spirit of SMDP. It will be one of the highlights of the year for both students and adults alike.

We are working with School Fun Run, an experienced organisation helping us run the event smoothly. Please note they will receive a commission for their support in coordinating this fundraiser for us.

We look forward to seeing everyone there for an unforgettable day of colour, fun and community spirit!
