Community News

Emmanuel College

Emmanuel’s Marianist ethos is expressed in a safe and secure Catholic environment, based on compassion, respect, justice and responsibility, which fosters the development of the learning and faith community. We shared breakfast and celebrated Mass together on Friday, to thank Fathers, Stepfathers, Grandfathers, Uncles and male mentors for the contributions they make to students' lives, and we thank Fr Timothy Kenney and Fr Paul Tru for delivering uplifting and heartwarming services at each College campus.

College community - celebrating our Student Ambassadors

Many of you who have attended Emmanuel College events, such as information mornings, open evenings, College tours and Year 6 orientation events, will have met our amazing Student Ambassadors. These students generously volunteer their time to welcome prospective families and showcase what they love about being part of the Emmanuel College community. By sharing their experiences, our Student Ambassadors provide an authentic insight into College life and the values that make our school special. Beyond supporting the College, being a Student Ambassador builds on personal values in developing leadership and public speaking skills and forming friendships with peers from different year levels. We are extremely proud of our Student Ambassadors and the enthusiasm, kindness and school spirit they bring to our College.

This week we share images from the recent Year 6 Fun and Games Nights that were held at each campus, student ambassadors and the Father’s Day Mass.

Term 3 at Emmanuel College – Community and Celebration

What a wonderful and busy Term 3 it has been, from the energy of our sports carnivals to the warmth of the Father’s Day Mass, our students and staff embraced experiences that celebrated learning, faith, culture, and community. We welcomed our Year 7 2026 students with Music Discovery sessions and Fun and Games Nights, supported those in need through the Winter Sleepout for St Vinnies, and explored pathways at the Careers Expo. Our VET Electrical students enjoyed hands-on industry learning at Omexom, while Cultural Week, debating, and cross-country highlighted creativity, confidence, and teamwork. Many students also joined the Australian Catholic Youth Festival School Encounter, deepening their faith alongside peers nationwide.

Badminton

A badminton wrap-up from Miss Coleman and Mr Kelleher, NDC: Getting to school at 7am for training twice a week shows true dedication of everyone in the badminton teams with amazing success at the recent SACCSS Junior Interschool Badminton competition, winning 4 gold medals. Congratulations to all participants and to these students winning in their divisions: Odellon, Vincent, Myrah and Mehre - Division A Boys and Girls, Liezel and Rhianna - Division Girls Doubles, Ruth and Carmelita - D Doubles. Olivia and Rachel narrowly missed out by less than 1% on account back and the boys’ teams had a great day winning more than half of their games for the day. The exemplary behaviour and humility shown by all players was wonderful to see.

Faith Day 2025 – Hope

Staff gathered for Faith Day with the theme Hope. The day included Mass, workshops, a multicultural lunch, and inspiring reflections from guest speakers. A highlight was Dr Janine Biggin’s session on Pope Francis as a leader of hope. Plenary Speaker, Fr Tim Kenney S.M. has been visiting for the last two weeks from the US Marianist Provincial Council in St Louis Missouri and reminded us of our call to bring hope to students lives. It was a wonderful day of connection, faith, and community.
