Year 5–12 Athletics Carnival

Our Year 5–12 Athletics Carnival was held on Thursday 14 August in glorious sunshine. The day showcased both the competitive drive and the strong sense of camaraderie within our school community. Students participated enthusiastically across a variety of track and field events, with spirited races and impressive performances in the field.

Congratulations to our Age Champions, placegetters, and indeed every student who participated, gave their best effort, and embraced the true spirit of the carnival. Thanks also to the members of our school community who came along to watch the action and encourage our students. It's always great to have you at these events!

Full results will be published in our next newsletter following the completion of the F-4 Carnival.

Albury Wodonga Eisteddfod (9-10 August)

Dynamic Duo Shine Again

The weekend of 9-10 August was one to remember for two of our superstar track and field athletes, Jas and Sam Brown.

The brothers produced a pair of stellar performances beginning on the Saturday, where Jas (Year 7) stormed home to win the under 13s Little Athletics State Cross Country Championship, crossing the finish line in a blistering time of 9:57 over 3km! To come out on top against some of the best middle distance runners in the state is no mean feat!

Older brother Sam (Year 9) equally impressed with his performance in the mixed under 15s race, securing an awesome 5th place finish with a time of 10:29 at the Lake Dewar course.

Despite their physical exertions on Saturday, the boys backed up again on Sunday, this time running in an Athletics Victoria XCR event down in Ballarat! Jasper produced another scintillating run, claiming victory in the under 14s event a flying 20:06 over the 6km course. Meanwhile, Sam achieved his best result at an Athletics Victoria event, finishing 11th in the under 16s event with a strong time of 20:56.

A phenomenal effort from both Jas and Sam. Congratulations boys!
